Verrill Farm, Concord, MA

If you think today’s picture resembles an American Flag you are exactly right, an artist’s creation where the medium is a lush collection of annuals. Ideally, it would have been nice to take the picture from above, however hills are not in abundance in this area of farmland situated near Nine Acre Corner – a crossroads leading to the adjacent towns of Lincoln, Sudbury and Acton.
The folks at Verrill have done a great job of growing their farming operation into a multi-faceted family run business that attracts a wide range of people from tourists to corporate sponsors and a loyal local following. Yet they have stayed true to their roots and preserved a farm stand character in customer service and amazing freshness and variety of produce. Also for families or anyone looking for a down-to-earth good time, Verrill Farm has a wonderful year round listing of events that follow the farming seasons they are a real treat if you happen to be in town. Today was the blueberry pancake festival, absolutely delicious and full of fun with live music and a traditional pie eating contest!
