I enjoy passing this structure in Carlisle. It is many things, bold, whimsical, artistic and very intriguing. This barn clock is one of the interesting eccentricities I love about Carlisle, MA. It is set back and woven into the landscape; a curiosity alongside the road. The clock itself is so seamlessly worked into the barn and the private surroundings that you’ve already passed it before reflecting upon what it was you just saw.

It is a reminder to me of summer days coming to a close. Already I’m plunging ahead working out the schedules, the driving logistics and adjusting to the general hum that is just around the corner with the start of school. I must admit, I am ready to dive in after a well rested summer. But also I find my kids are impatient to hop back in as well. Being so young, there is none of the trepidation of homework and testing that awaits them later, for now they are excited to meet teachers, ride a school bus, see friends and and wear their first day of school outfits!
